Layoffs and Service Reductions from Budget Cuts Begin to Take Effect

Employees and constituents alike will begin to feel the impact of decreased funding this month. For employees facing layoffs, information is available to assist you and can be found on the Employment page. New days/hours of operations will begin at many facilities, including the new Wednesday through Sunday Animal Shelter schedule, detailed in this news release. Much more information on how services will be reduced or changed can be found on the Budget Office Website.

Sacramento County has many opportunities for residents to attend and participate in public meetings. Some meetings are also streamed on the Internet or broadcast on Metro Cable Channel 14. For some meetings, agendas, summaries, and video or audio recordings may also be available online.
